Devout Detroit, Houses of Worship Bus Tour: Jefferson Ave Jaunt

$65.00

Since Detroit’s founding as Fort Pontchartrain Du Detroit in 1701, religion has played a massive role in shaping the architecture, alliances, and hearts of our citizens. Known the world over as “The City Of Churches” the Motor City boosts spectacular synagogues, marvelous mosques, and tranquil temples. Join Detroit History Tours as we celebrate Detroit, Highland Park, and Hamtramck houses of worship. You’ll learn the stories of the architects who built them, the parishioners who embraced them, and the leaders who helped them thrive. This tour is not evangelical and instead will focus on the history of these magnificent spaces. Together with your Detroit History Tours guide you’ll tour the inside and outside of each building with onsite experts, and learn some of the stories of Detroit’s religious past on board the bus enroute to each location. This tour is between 3 and 3.5 hours in length. Your ticket price includes the full tour and a donation to each house of worship we will visit.
